magazine and website--friend or FOE?

I've never been a great fan of the online industry. I only ever use the internet for emails and news, by which I mean the latest bits of news, which explains why I am a computer- or technology-illiterate. If I get to choose I'd rather read a newspaper, something tangible I can grab hold of.

Kim Hollamby briefed us on the reasons for launching a magazine website, the interactions between the magazine and its websites, the criteria fora website to entice visits, the advantages and disadvantages of forums, different and similar readership between a magazine and its website, and the future expectations he has on a successful website.

Disinterest though I am, I'm in the same mind with him on the immediacy of a magazine website, which is why, not only magazines but also newspapers, have their own website sto supplement the latest bits of news, to encourage low-cost interactions among readers and between readers and editors. It offers a broader range of information at shorter lengths as people have shorter attention span when reading online materials. It certainly does wonders to its magazine ocmpany as it is not geographically bound.

In a nutshell, a magazine does make life easier for both its readers and magazine company. It encourages people to stay at home and stick to their computers rather than go out to grab a printed copy. It encourages people to put their personal details on the internet and fuels cross-border identity thefts. It's only yet another invitation to the virtual world.
